OUR MISSION

Hoops and Health Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the physical and mental wellbeing of youth in our community.

We combine basketball, nutrition education, and leadership development to create programs that strengthen bodies, build confidence, and inspire future leaders.

Why We Show Up for Our Kids

Children who engage in vigorous physical activity at least three times a week score higher academically than their less active peers. Source

Only 24% of U.S. children aged 6–17 meet the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity. Source

Youth with mentors are 55% more likely to enroll in college and 81% more likely to participate in sports or extracurricular activities. Source

Mentored youth are 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs and 27% less likely to start drinking. Source

Peer-led nutrition and physical activity interventions show promise in preventing overweight and obesity among children and adolescents. Source

Children from lower-income communities often lack access to healthy foods, contributing to higher obesity rates. Source
